YOUTH FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

Members of the Youth for Environment in School Organization (YES-O) of Villanueva National High School participate in a highly engaging discussion and planning session wherein they crafted specific action programs and activities designed to help address environmental challenges such as solid waste management and ozone layer depletion. Organized by STEAG State Power Inc. together with the DENR-EMB Sectoral Monitoring Team (SMT), the activity is in line with the commemoration of September 16 as International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. About 30 years ago, the Philippines became a signatory to the Montreal Protocol, an international commitment that binds nations around the world to slash the production and consumption of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and other ozone-depleting substances (ODS).
