Weaving the Tapestry of Synergy

Recently, the LGU-Villanueva, DOST-PTRI, and STEAG State Power Inc. (SPI) came together to provide two handloom weaving machines to the VK General Services-MPC cooperative.

This is part of SPI’s Livelihood and Enterprise Development (LEED) Program which supports, among others, Villanueva’s vision of establishing a silk industry, utilizing the resources at DOST-PTRI’s facility in Brgy Imelda.

These handlooms represent more than just equipment; they symbolize new opportunities for local women through technical training, mentorship, and material support from our partners.

By empowering these community members to produce high-quality silk, we help preserve traditional skills and position Villanueva as an emerging player in the silk industry.

We are grateful to Mayor Jenny Uy and the rest of the LGU team for the opportunity to be part of this collaborative effort.

As what our COMREL Manager Jerome Soldevilla highlighted, each partnership thread weaves a unique story of progress, culminating in silk proudly produced and branded as “Villanueva Kini.”
