SPI workers and dependents received COVID-19 vaccine

More than a hundred SPI contractors and employee dependents were getting their first dose shot against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).  Held at Robinsons Mall, Cagayan de Oro City, the activity was implemented in partnership with Reliance Care Inc. and in coordination with the Local Government Unit of Cagayan de Oro City and the Department of Health Region-X.

According to SPI Power Plant Manager, Dr. Carsten Evers, the company desires to have its employees and their families to get vaccinated against COVID-19. “The benefit of being vaccinated is not just the employees and their families, but for the whole community to achieve herd immunity and move forward to a much better normal for everyone.” Dr. Evers said.

SPI procured the AstraZeneca vaccines through Aboitiz Power and Go Negosyo/BDO Foundation, under the private sector-led ‘A Dose of Hope’ program.

SPI’s COVID-19 Vaccination Program was launched to support the government’s efforts to vaccinate qualified adults and help reduce the risks of infection amidst this time of pandemic.
