SPI Welcomes FujiFilm, Oro Chamber, and PHIVIDEC Delegation for Industrial Visit

SPI recently hosted a delegation from Japanese firm FujiFilm, headed by its President and CEO, Mr. Hideaki Kato.

The delegation also included executives from the Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OROCHAMBER), led by President Almarico Brito, and representatives from the PHIVIDEC Industrial Authority (PIA) for a courtesy call and industrial visit.

Aside from showcasing industries within the PHIVIDEC Industrial Estate-Misamis Oriental (PIE-MO), the visit also served as a venue to explore potential collaborations in positioning PHIVIDEC as a premier investment destination in Mindanao.

During the visit, SPI COMREL Manager Jerome Soldevilla underscored the strategic advantages of PIE-MO, highlighting the 4Ps—power, park, ports, and people—as key factors that make the estate an attractive location for investors.

For his part, Mr. Hideaki Kato, together with FujiFilm’s Southeast Asia and Philippine team, expressed appreciation for SPI’s warm reception and commended the company for its significant contributions to Mindanao’s economic growth. He also acknowledged FujiFilm’s longstanding partnership with SPI, recognizing the essential role of Japanese businesses in the company’s success over the years.

Following the visit, Mr. Kato will speak at the joint OROCHAMBER and Fujifilm business event “Building A Future-Ready City: Leveraging Innovation and Collaboration” at the LKKS Luxe Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City. The event will bring together industry leaders to discuss how innovation and strategic partnerships can drive regional development.

Through engagements like this, SPI remains committed to fostering collaboration, driving industrial growth, and strengthening investment opportunities within PIE-MO and across Mindanao.
