SPI-Supported PNPh Scholars Graduate with Honors at USJR Cebu

The first batch of students supported by SPI Power Incorporated under the Passerelles Numériques Philippines (PNPh) Scholarship Program graduated with flying colors, earning their Associate Degree in Computer Technology major in Software Development from the University of San Jose–Recoletos (USJR) in Cebu City.

Leading the SPI-supported graduates was Norkent J. Ricacho, Valedictorian of Class 2025 and recipient of the Gold Medal Highest Distinction: Medal of Excellence Award for Academics and Center Life. He was joined by fellow scholars Ashley Nicole V. Oco and Dionmar M. Paner. Hailing from SPI’s host community in Villanueva, the three are part of the 65 PNPh graduates of Class 2025.

SPI expressed pride in the achievements of its scholars, noting that the graduates are now well-prepared to begin their professional journeys in the information technology industry.

SPI also acknowledged Passerelles Numériques Philippines, led by Country Representative Luchi C. Flores, for a partnership that creates pathways for underprivileged youth through digital education—transforming IT skills into meaningful opportunities for employment and social inclusion.

SPI’s partnership with PNPh forms part of its Social Empowerment through Education (SEEd) Program, which aims to empower young people to reach their full potential through access to quality education and digital skills training.

To date, SPI has supported seven students from its host communities in availing of the PNPh Scholarship, and the company looks forward to more student-applicants qualifying under the program’s stringent selection process in the years ahead.
