SPI Marks 19th AGET: Powering Mindanao with Efficiency, Reliability and Excellence

The 19th Annual Guarantee and Efficiency Tests (AGET) of the Mindanao Power Plant has successfully concluded through the collaboration of SPI, NPC-ESD, PSALM-IPP/IPPA CAD and PSALM-ETD.

Conducted over five days, the AGET involved the calibration of identified temperature transmitters and condensate flow meters and load testing of both generating units at three capacity levels (100%, 75%, and 50%); wherein during the tests, coal grab sampling and billing meter readings were performed at specified intervals in order to validate that the facility can continue to deliver reliable and efficient power to Mindanao.

Over the years, the Mindanao Power Plant has consistently showcased its ability to operate at full capacity. With a sustained efficiency rate of 36%, it remains one of the country’s most efficient thermal power plants.

The reliable operations of SPI’s Mindanao Power Plant goes beyond meeting technical standards – it reaffirms its vital role in driving progress and ensuring a brighter, more secure future for Mindanao’s communities.
