SPI Joins Guinness World Record Bamboo Planting Event in CDO

SPI participated recently in the Simultaneous Bamboo Planting Activity at Pamalihi, Brgy. Pagatpat, Cagayan de Oro City. The event, facilitated by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Local Government Unit of Cagayan de Oro, aimed to set a Guinness World Record for the most people planting bamboo simultaneously.

A total of 274 giant bamboo trees alongside DENR participants were planted by SPI. The activity is joined by thousands of participants across 19 locations in Mindanao, with most planting sites located in Northern Mindanao.

This effort highlights SPI’s dedication to environmental sustainability and its role in global ecosystem preservation.
