SPI Employees Join Mangrove Planting Initiative in Celebration of World Day for Safety and Health and International Earth Day

In commemoration of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work and International Earth Day, SPI employees engaged recently in a mangrove planting activity in Sugbongcogon, Misamis Oriental. This activity highlights SPI’s corporate social responsibility, integrating environmental sustainability with employee well-being. By fostering a culture of environmental stewardship, SPI not only fulfills its corporate social responsibility but also empowers its workforce to actively participate in initiatives that promote a healthier and greener planet.

The planting site is part of the 2.2 hectare mangrove protected area adopted by SPI for its community-based Marine Resource Development Program focusing on mangrove rehabilitation. This project is in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Sugbongcogon, and reflects SPI’s steadfast commitment in protecting the environment under its Environmental Conservation (ECo) Program.
