SPI Embarks on a New Chapter with a New Company Name

On January 10, 2025, STEAG State Power Inc. officially became SPI Power Incorporated, marking a significant milestone in the company’s history.

This rebranding reflects the organization’s evolution under the leadership of Aboitiz Power Corporation (AP), which acquired a majority stake in 2023 following the divestment of former majority shareholder Steag GmbH. The change symbolizes continuity, growth, and a renewed commitment to empowering lives, transforming communities, and delivering energy with efficiency, reliability, and responsibility.

“This milestone is more than a name change—it reflects our collective efforts to adapt, grow, and lead in an ever-evolving energy landscape,” said Dirk Sohns, President and CEO.

“While our name has changed, our dedication to our values and our commitment to each of you remain steadfast.”

Mr. Sohns encouraged employees to embrace their roles as ambassadors of SPI’s new identity, communicating the change confidently and proudly in interactions with stakeholders.

Operations, partnerships, and services remain unaffected by the rebranding, ensuring a seamless transition for all stakeholders. In the coming weeks, employees will expect updates to company logos, email signatures, and other branded materials, as well as training and guidelines to support the process. A comprehensive communication plan has also been developed to keep stakeholders informed and engaged throughout the transition.

The rebranding emphasizes SPI Power’s enduring values and mission.

“This is an evolution in our journey, not a departure from the principles that have guided us for years,” Mr. Sohns reassured.

As SPI Power Incorporated embarks on this new chapter, the company remains focused on its vision of empowering lives and creating a brighter future for the communities it serves.
