SPI Celebrates 18 Years of growth and powerful success

SPI celebrated the 18th anniversary of its power plant operations with a vibrant anniversary event at the Mindanao Power Plant. The milestone occasion was marked with pride as SPI reflected on its achievements in delivering energy, creating opportunities, and empowering communities.

Since its commercial operation, SPI has delivered an impressive 23.5 billion kilowatt-hours of energy across Mindanao, playing a critical role in supporting the region’s growing energy needs. With a remarkable 87.9% availability rate and a consistent 100% achievement of design net power output, the plant stands as a testament to operational efficiency and reliability.

The celebration highlighted the company’s social and economic contributions, including the energization of over 3,400 households through its Fostering Rural Electrification and Energization (FREE) Program, the creation and sustainability of more than 600 jobs, and the empowerment of over 86,000 beneficiaries through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. SPI also celebrated achieving over 16 million safe manhours, underscoring its commitment to workplace safety and operational integrity.

With 18 years of efficiency, reliability and responsibility in its operations, SPI looks forward to continuing its legacy of innovation, community empowerment, and sustainability as it powers the progress of Mindanao.
