REHSS Awareness 2023: A Month-Long Celebration of Resilience, Environment, Health, Safety, and Security

The Resilience, Environment, Health, Safety, and Security (REHSS) Awareness 2023 event was launched recently with vibrant enthusiasm as employees and consultants of SPI gathered for the Resiliency March and a lively Zumba session. This energetic start marked the beginning of a month-long celebration, echoing the resounding theme for the year: “Proofing Vision Zero towards a more resilient organization in 2023 and beyond.” It was also an occasion to applaud the remarkable achievement of surpassing 14 million safe man-hours without any loss of time due to accidents.

In his opening address, Dr. Carsten Evers extended heartfelt congratulations to the SPI team, emphasizing their pivotal role in achieving this impressive safety milestone. He called upon everyone to internalize and put into practice the principles of RHESS in their daily work routines.

Assistant Regional Director Atty. Russel Jallorina, representing the Department of Labor and Employment Region 10, joined in the accolades. He commended SPI for its unwavering commitment to safety and health practices over the years, underlining the company’s role as a paragon of workplace safety.

REHSS Manager Neil Quijano said that the REHSS Awareness 2023 is scheduled to run from September 25 to October 17, encompassing a range of activities designed to commemorate the uninterrupted safety record since the inception of power plant operations.

The core objective of this event is to raise awareness among all employees, consultants, and power plant contractors about the paramount significance of REHSS in the workplace. It aims to instill a culture of safety where workers consciously prioritize safety considerations in their day-to-day tasks. As the month unfolds, the REHSS Awareness 2023 promises to be an engaging and transformative experience, promoting resilience, health, environmental consciousness, safety, and security within the organization and beyond.
