PICPA industry visit

SPI’s Finance and Controlling Plant Manager Alvin Dequito talks about the changing role of management accountants in the digital world during a recent industry visit to the power plant by the members of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) – Misamis Oriental Chapter.

Beyond performing the broad role of accounting and reporting, Dequito said that finance managers and practitioners need to cope with the rising demand for analytical capabilities in developing and deploying solutions to thrive and, and not just survive, in a highly competitive global economy.

PICPA Chapter Head Ethel Quino lauded SPI for allowing the group to visit SPI and learn from its current business best practices. Through the years, SPI has been hosting community learning sessions to different groups as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility program.
