SPI is cited for its excellent CSR programs “which afforded economic, social, and environmental benefits to its stakeholders, clientele, and consumers”.

The award further notes that SPI’s “environmental and social philanthropy and volunteering efforts for the community helped forge a stronger bond between workers and consumers and the community as a whole”.

BusinessWeek Mindanao Publisher Dante Sudaria, together with Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Chairperson Orlando Ravanera presented the award. PCOO Secretary and Cabinet Officer for Regional Development (CORD) Region 10 Martin Andanar also attend the awarding ceremony. Jerome Soldevilla received the award on behalf of SPI.
