Multi-partite Monitoring Team unveils Environmental Performance of the Mindanao Power Plant

The Multi-partite Monitoring Team (MMT) overseeing the operations at the Mindanao Power Plant of SPI, has disclosed the environmental performance of the facility to community leaders in Barangay San Martin, Villanueva. This disclosure aligns with the Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign organized by the monitoring body to foster transparency and community engagement.

The activity, held at the PRISTINE Hall provided an opportunity for local leaders and stakeholders to gain insights into the plant’s environmental footprint and mitigation measures undertaken to ensure management of environmental impact. MMT Chairman Jose Oliver Ello led representatives from the MMT in facilitating the session, presenting comprehensive data on emissions, waste management, and efforts towards sustainability.

Also during the activity, SPI turned-over more than 50 thousand pesos worth of equipment to support the health and education initiatives of the community. SPI’s investment in these programs align with its broader corporate social responsibility agenda, reflecting a holistic approach to community engagement beyond environmental stewardship.

The event highlights a proactive approach towards corporate responsibility with transparent engagement of SPI with its communities.
