Growing more trees to commemorate Envi Month

SPI Employees and participants from government agencies and private companies join the simultaneous region-wide tree-growing activity to commemorate this year’s Philippine Environment Month.

Organized by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) with the theme “Aksyon Para sa Natatanging Mundo,” this year’s event was held at the SPI-sponsored 1,200 hectare Mapawa Carbon Sink Project Site in Cugman, Cagayan de Oro City.

The hundreds of tree seedlings planted during the event add to the more than six hundred thousand trees previously grown through the various SPI-sponsored reforestation projects in Cagayan de Oro City and Misamis Oriental.
