Empowering Communities through Inclusive Livelihood Training Program

SPI, DepEd-ALS -Villanueva, COBSAT-TESDA, and the Local Government of Villanueva joined forces recently for the launch of an inclusive Community-Based Livelihood Training Program called Project SKILLS (Strengthening Knowledge in Life Long Skills).

This initiative aims to empower 160 adult learners from Villanueva by providing them with valuable technical-vocational and livelihood skills, fostering self-reliance, and enabling them to become productive members of society.

The program caters to a diverse range of individuals within the community, including out-of-school youth, differently-abled individuals, senior citizens, and indigenous people. It offers comprehensive training in various fields such as Basic Solar System Installation, Electrical Wiring Installation, Food Processing, Baking, Handicrafts, and Painting. By diversifying the skill set, Project SKILLS ensures that learners can explore multiple avenues for livelihood, thus enhancing their chances of success.

This collaboration exemplifies the transformative power of partnerships meant to enable project beneficiaries to become functional, effective, and valuable members of the community, thereby contributing to the overall progress of Villanueva.
