Bridging Theory with Practice: USTP students gain practical insights on sound environmental stewardship

Over 200 Environmental Science students from the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) in Cagayan de Oro participated in a learning session organized by SPI during their recent visit to the Mindanao Power Plant in Villanueva.

The visit provided students with a unique opportunity to gain practical insights into the operations of a power plant and its environmental impact.

The activity sets to enhance students’ understanding of sustainable energy practices and environmental conservation efforts and bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications, thus empowering students to become future environmental leaders.

This initiative is part of SPI’s continuing Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Program in supporting educational initiatives and fostering collaboration with academic institutions to promote environmental awareness and responsible energy practices among the youth.
