The European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP), the largest foreign business chamber in the Philippines, paid a courtesy visit to SPI and the PIE-MO Industries Association to enhance greater collaboration and strengthen partnerships in support of regional industrial and economic development.
The ECCP delegation was led by Executive Director Florian Gottein, together with ECCP Northern Mindanao Chairman and Regional Development Council (RDC-X) Co-Chairperson Ralph Paguio.
They were welcomed by SPI Executives Dr. Carsten Evers and Carlos Streegan, as well as SPI COMREL Manager and PIE-MO Industries Association President Jerome Soldevilla.
The meeting was attended by executives from PIE MO locator industries and PHIVIDEC officials, underscoring the shared commitment of industry leaders and stakeholders to promote sustainable industrial growth, investment opportunities, and stronger public-private collaboration in the region.
Discussions focused on enhancing industry partnerships, energy reliability, investment promotion, and strengthening the competitiveness of industries operating within the PHIVIDEC Industrial Estate and Northern Mindanao.
The engagement likewise reflected the strong and growing economic relations between the Philippines and Europe. The European Union is currently the Philippines’ fourth-largest trading partner, underscoring the depth of long-standing trade and investment ties and continued cooperation in areas such as sustainability, industrial development, and economic modernization.
According to the EU’s official trade information on EU–Philippines relations, both sides continue to pursue stronger economic cooperation, including ongoing efforts toward a comprehensive Free Trade Agreement to further enhance trade, investment flows, and regulatory cooperation between the two regions.
The visit underscored the importance of strong collaboration among industry locators, government institutions, and the international business community in advancing long-term economic resilience and industrial progress in Mindanao.
