SPI Joins First Quarter Nationwide Earthquake Drill

SPI employees, CETs, and regular contractors actively participated in the 2025 First Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held recently at the Mindanao Power Plant. The exercise was conducted as part of the national preparedness initiative to enhance earthquake response and safety measures.

Participants took part in the drill, promptly executing the “DUCK, COVER, and HOLD ON” procedure. They maintained this protective position for one minute as instructed, demonstrating discipline and readiness in the event of an actual earthquake.

The successful drill reinforced SPI’s commitment to workplace safety and disaster preparedness. Employees expressed confidence in their ability to respond effectively to potential earthquakes, reducing the risk of injury and operational disruptions.

SPI continues to emphasize the importance of regular earthquake drills in mitigating risks and ensuring personnel are well-equipped for emergencies. More safety and preparedness programs will be implemented to further strengthen resilience within the organization.
