Tagoloan River Basin Council cited SPI for Environmental Protection Efforts

During an educational tour of the Mindanao Power Plant, members of the Tagoloan River Basin Management Council (TRBMC) lauded SPI for its various social and environmental conservation initiatives.

The visit coincided with the regular council meeting recently hosted by LGU Tagoloan and part of the council’s ongoing efforts to benchmark and learn from stakeholders’ best practices in social and environmental management.

TRBMC, chaired by Bishop Noel Pedregosa of the Diocese of Malaybalay, Bukidnon, acts as an oversight body for the river basin, covering several communities in Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental provinces. The Tagoloan River basin, one of the country’s major river basins, spans 1,704 square kilometers and includes 94 barangays.

Tagoloan Municipal Environment and Natural Resources (MENRO) Officer Jeffrey Elogsong thanked SPI for its support, citing the company’s significant contributions to developing host communities in Misamis Oriental and notable environmental protection programs and projects.
