Practical and engaging learning with XU Engineering Students

Thirty electrical engineering students from Xavier University visited recently the Mindanao Power Plant in line with the celebration of Mechatronics Week. The purpose of the visit was to provide students with a firsthand appreciation of the electricity generation process. For SPI, the plant tour and educational visits form part of SPI’s Continuing Information Education and Communication Program. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications, offering students valuable insights into the real-world processes involved in electricity production.

The program was designed to help students understand innovative technologies, various processes, and sustainability initiatives within the power generation industry. The goal is not only to enrich their academic knowledge but also to inspire and motivate them on their academic and professional journey. These experiential learning opportunities play a crucial role in fostering a deeper understanding of the field, encouraging students to connect theoretical concepts with the practical aspects of their discipline.
